What is Parkinson’s Disease?

Parkinson’s Disease (PD) is a complex movement disorder with symptoms affecting performance of everyday functional tasks.

How can Physiotherapy help?

Having a physiotherapy consult on initial diagnosis is crucial to provide guidance for self management and assist with issues such as:

  • Difficulty Walking e.g. shuffling, tripping, slowness, freezing
  • Balance problems or falls
  • Difficulty moving in bed, rising from a chair, car transfers
  • Pain, stiffness or cramping

  • Devising and progressing exercise programs
